Instructions:
1) Download & install FlashWriter
(3.18 MB).
2) Obtain the latest firmware / configuration
zip file. It can be found
by clicking the following link:
http://www.sarians.co.uk/firmware/flashwriter/
NB It is of the utmost important that the
correct firmware file is used for the correct Sarian model
number. If you attempt to load firmware designed for one
model onto a different model in most cases the unit will
have to be returned to the factory for repair. A charge
is made for this service.
To locate the correct firmware for your
model, after clicking on the link above select the sub folder
with the name of your Sarian model. Finally download the
zip file which contains the latest version number. The format
of the file name is as follows:
<model name>-<firmware version><option>.zip
As an example the file called IR2140-4572s.zip
is firmware for the IR2140 model and is firmware version
4.572. This file is found in the IR2140 sub folder after
following the above link.
3) Extract both the .all
and .ini
file to the SAME FOLDER on your computer using a un-zip
program.
4) Connect the nominated port on the Sarian
to a free com port on your PC via an RS232 compatible serial
cable.
5) Close all other programs running on your
PC.
6) Run "FlashWriter" by selecting
"FlashWriter.exe"
from the "Sarian Flash Writer" folder in the Windows
Start Menu.
7) In Sarian Flash Writer, select the correct
communications port.
8) Click the "Load" button.
9) Click Yes, then OK and select the ".all"
file you extracted earlier.
10) Follow the instructions
11) Once complete you may be prompted for
the site specific data, you can miss any of these out by
clicking the cancel button.
