Procedure for loading new firmware to all Sarian Units There are two methods by which new firmware can be loaded onto Sarian 2000 series units, these are FTP and Flashwriter The FlashWriter Method FlashWriter can only be used locally i.e. it requires a serial connection between your PC and the unit to be programmed. With the FlashWriter method the entire Sarian flash will be overwritten which means that any configuration will be lost. Click below for further details on using the FlashWriter method. [ FlashWriter ] The FTP Method The FTP method can be used to upgrade firmware on Sarian units either locally or remotely. A little more background knowledge is required in order to use the FTP method. It is assumed that the user is familiar with the operation of FTP client software and Telnet client software.
